We are thrilled to announce that the new Detroit Dog Rescue shelter, located on the west side of Detroit, has officially passed inspection and is certified by The State of Michigan!
What does this mean? We are moving in to our brand new shelter. Please be patient as we immediately begin our moving processes which will be done in three phases through April.
What does this mean for our current shelter and operations? We will have MORE good news that will positively impact residents and their pets soon.
The State of Michigan was so impressed with the new shelter YOU helped us create that they want to bring back field supervisors to show just how sheltering in Michigan can be done. We are overjoyed by completing this project and having such high approval ratings from the City of Detroit and State of Michigan.
How can you help? We’ll be scheduling and accepting new volunteers in June once we learn our new systems and operations – we can’t wait to guide you along on all of our future rescues!
From the bottom of our hearts, we hope you feel the wait for this beautiful facility was worth it and we thank YOU for getting so many dogs closer to home with Detroit Dog Rescue and our no-kill mission.
