Enrichment Day

Join us for a day of creating enrichment toys and treats! Our rescue implements daily enrichment for our dogs so that we can provide them with the best care while they wait to be adopted.

Detroit Dog Rescue invites you to join us for a day to help provide enrichment for our shelter dogs!

Our rescue implements daily enrichment for our dogs so that we can provide them the best care while they wait to be adopted. It is important that we not only keep our dogs physically active and healthy, but that we also keep them mentally stimulated. Enrichment toys and treats, such as stuffed Kongs, filled boxes, and stuffed paper towel/toilet paper rolls, help to keep the dogs occupied while they wait their turn for their next walk and other daily activities.

We are offering a service learning day for children and students aged 5 to 14 to help and contribute to the care of our shelter dogs. We will be providing a space and supplies for kids to learn how to create these different types of toys and treats, and their importance, that will be donated to our shelter. Kids will be able to take these new skills home for their own pets to enjoy and continue to help pets still waiting for their own families.

Allergen Alert
Peanut butter and dairy products will be used for this activity
