    Janet Peppler is the owner of The Peppler Agency, an independent insurance agency located in Harper Woods, Michigan.  Her experience with hands on daily business activity puts Ms Peppler in the productive role as President of Detroit Dog Rescue, given her knowledge of running a successful business and her compassion for dogs.  The agency’s mascot, “Miley” can be found at work on a daily basis.

  • Mark Breimeister
    Mark Breimeister Secretary

    Mark Breimeister of Waterford, MI. is a graduate of Michigan State University and is President of AAA Produce Exchange, Inc located in Waterford, MI. and a partner in Saven Corporation of Savannah, GA.  He is active in the community and is also a member of the Oakland County Boat Club where he has participated on many committees.  Mr. Breimeister has been a board member of the Detroit Dog Rescue since 2013.  His dog, Lucky, was a formally used in a back yard breeding operation.

    Jere L’Heureux Treasurer

    Jere L’Heureux worked at the original site of the new Detroit Dog Rescue facility when it was an Animal Hospital from the time he was in 6th grade until college at Michigan State.  He is very excited to see the facility re-purposed from the Animal Hospital his father owned for 40 years into the most caring Dog Rescue in the country.  Jere is the owner and President of Contract Options, Inc.  Besides being an avid animal lover, Jere loves skiing both in the water and snow, Northern Michigan and the Michigan State Spartans.  GO GREEN!

    Joel A. Harris Board Member

    Joel A. Harris owns his own law firm located in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.  Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as a consultant and business advisor.  He has a Political Science  degree from Kalamazoo College and J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

    Mr. Harris is looking forward to lending his business and legal expertise to Detroit Dog Rescue and helping the organization continue to achieve great things for the community.  In his free time, he enjoys food, wine, and friends.  He also loves all dogs, including the newest member of his family, Cleo.

  • Kristina Millman-Rinaldi
    Kristina Millman-Rinaldi Executive Director

    Kristina has been with Detroit Dog Rescue since its inception in 2011.  She has an amazing connection with abused dogs understanding the harm of abuse from her personal background as an abused child.

    Kristina has been essential in forming partnerships between Detroit Dog Rescue and corporations such as: Pet Smart Charities, Pet Supplies Plus and several Detroit based automotive companies.  In 2014, with help from Pet Supplies Plus and Natura, Kristina supplied not only, Detroit Dog Rescue, but several Michigan based rescues with 600,000 pounds of food for homeless pets.

    Recently, this inspirational young woman has been working with Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan to upgrade obsolete animal service codes that will improve animal welfare in Detroit. Kristina’s deep love for dogs, and all animals, has made a great difference in Detroit.

    Recently, Kristina received Beaumont Hospital’s President’s Award, Philanthropist Manoj Bhargava handpicked her for the “Person Doing The Most Good in America” accolade, Mackinac Island’s Humanitarian Award and was highlighted in Dogster Magazine’s “Hero Award Issue.”
